TOR- MTP Health Services

  1. Context

The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) has been working on developing learning solutions for the industry.  As such we have developed several eLearning and in-class training programs, which are being rolled out. The ACA is the lead partner for the Master Training Program (MTP) from the Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs & Growth in the ECOWAS Region (MOVE/GIZ) to enable us to consolidate the learning programs as well as enhance the content. So far 16 editions have been held already in which 1,184 experts have been trained between 2014 and 2023. To prepare for and deliver the 17th and 18th Editions in 2024, the ACA is seeking qualified consultants or consultancy firm to provide healthcare services during the training period.

The objective of the services to be contracted for is to provide a 24-hour professional healthcare service to participants during the MTP (100 participants) in cases of ill health and injury during practical sessions.

  1. Tasks to be performed by the consultant.

The consultant is responsible for providing the following services:

  • To provide healthcare services for participants and resource team on the programme from (25th February to 01st March 2024) and (17th March to 22nd March 2024) respectively for each session. The team should be composed of a medical doctor and two Nurses (where one functions as a nanny to support nursing mothers) on-site and refer extreme cases to the nearest Healthcare facility.
  • To advise management on findings promptly.
  • To ensure each morning that the appropriate COVID-19 health protocols are in place in the conference room.
  • To check and record participant’s temperature each morning and advise.
  • To give a welcome address on health-related issues on Sunday (25th February & 17th March 2024) during the opening dinner (for each session respectively) and reinforce at the opening ceremony on Monday, (26th February &18th March 2024) at 8:30am (for each session respectively).
  • To start on-site services at 6:00am and close at 6:00pm each day. Off-site services will be on call in case of emergency between 6:00pm and 6:00am.
  • To provide laboratory services, supply of drugs and submit bill/invoice for payment. This will be checked on daily basis and signed by the Finance Officer.
  • Ambulance services will be required when necessary. Invoice for usage of ambulance should be provided as and when.
  • To arrange a nearby hospital facility (very close to the hotel) that can be accessed in any case of emergency.

Other expectations:

  • Minimize the use of mobile phones and earpieces during working hours.
  • To be very professional in the delivery of services.
  • To join the ACA team on Sunday morning, 25th February 2024 and 17th March 2024 (respectively for each session) for opening debriefings and Saturday morning, 01st March 2023 and 23rd March 2024(respectively for each session) for the final debriefing.

 

Location

The training will be held in Aburi. We will communicate the venue once the applicants is selected.

  1. Expected Qualification

Education/training:  University Degree in Medicine

  • Languages: Speaks French and English fluently.
  • General professional experience: at least 5 years of working experience in the medical field in Ghana. Experience in working outside of Ghana would be an advantage.
  • Leadership/management experience: at least 5 years of management/leadership experience as project team leader or manager in a company/organisation
  • Other: Previous experience in providing medical services to similar training programmes.

 

  1. Duration of Contract

The contract is spread from 20th February to 31st March 2024. This period contains two (2) sessions and within this period all the above expected results of the consultancy must be finalized.
