18th ACA Annual Cashew Conference and Expo: ACA Announces Change of Host Country

Accra, 16th May 2024: The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) has announced that the 18th ACA Annual Cashew Conference and Expo, previously scheduled to take place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, will now be held at the Sofitel Hotel in Cotonou, the Republic of Benin.

The theme for this years Conference, Building Capacities for a Sustainable African Cashew Industry, and the date, 17th to 19th September 2024, remain the same.

The ACA expresses profound gratitude to the government and cashew stakeholders of Burkina Faso for the desire and commitment showed. Though the Conference could not be held there due to aggravating circumstances, we are confident the country will be hosting the Conference in the near future.

The government and people of Benin are meanwhile set to host the ACA Cashew Conference and Expo for the third time after previously hosting it successfully in 2012 and 2017. The two times they previously hosted remain some of the most colorful and historic ACA Conferences offering participants unique opportunities for business-oriented networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Today, as they roll out a new and audacious policy to process all the cashew produced in the country, it offers a fertile learning ground for the industry.

In announcing this change in venue, the Managing Director of the ACA, Mr Ernest Mintah, said, “We are pleased to announce Benin as the new host of the 18th ACA Annual Cashew Conference and Expo. Benin is an important country in the cashew industry. The country is one of the leading cashew producers in West Africa, is making great strides at local processing and one of the best business destinations in West Africa. Even more important now is that there is a major policy currently being rolled out to boost local cashew processing, which could have major implications for the cashew industry in the country. The Conference will deliberate on this policy, its implementation and what it means for the industry. I must say, we are excited to be back in Benin,” Managing Director of the ACA, Mr. Ernest Mintah, said.

We assure all partners, conference patrons and the entire cashew world of another historic Conference in Benin. We appreciate your continued support over the years and look forward to welcoming you all from around the world to the new Five Star Sofitel Hotel in Cotonou, Benin from 17th to 19th September 2024.
