ACA Partners with the Cashew Industry Association of Ghana (CIAG) in support of the Indigenous Cashew Processors in Ghana

From the 1st to the 7th of April, ACA’s Chief Business Services Officer Sunil Dahiya and executives of the Cashew Industry Association of Ghana (CIAG) Mr. Nii Smith and Mr. John Addaquay visited cashew processing factories in Ghana. This visit is part of ACA‘s technical support and assistance to the cashew sector in Ghana via the national industry association.  Its main objective is to thoroughly analyze challenges of indigenous cashew processors, and document findings for a final presentation to the government of Ghana,   following its initiative through the Association of Ghana Industry (AGI) to provide stimulus packages for the various industries in Ghana including the cashew sector.

Following this assessment trip, ACA and CIAG are expected to produce a technical report, which will explicitly describe the conditions of the value addition segment in Ghana and ultimately ensure that these processing units are reactivated or continue to function.

The African Cashew Alliance is honored to be part of this initiative and hopeful for a more competitive cashew industry in Ghana.
