ACA Participates at the IRD Annual Marketing Forum in Dakar

On March 30th 2017, ACA participated in the Annual Marketing Forum organized by International Relief & Development (IRD) in Dakar, Senegal. The forum welcomed more than 100 people from Senegal, The Gambia, and Guinea Bissau and ACA was represented by the Assistant Manager for Business Services Wermé Mahamadou, who delivered a presentation on advantages and opportunities of cashew processing in West Africa.
 
The General Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, who represented the Minister, officially opened the forum. There were also several other government agencies and private companies participating in the event. There was a variety of expositions of by-products such as charcoal produced with cashew shell, cashew apple juice, and animal feed made with apple residue. The forum aimed at assessing 2016 cashew year and its byproducts commercialization. Government agencies and regulatory bodies were also encouraged to set up favorable policies for cashew value chain enhancement and facilitate financing opportunities to stakeholders.
