TOR-MTP Training Material Development Expert

Background

 

 The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) has been working on developing learning solutions for the industry.  As such we have developed several eLearning and in-class training programs, which are being rolled out. We have also fully taken over the Master Training Program (MTP) from the Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs & Growth in the ECOWAS Region (MOVE/GIZ) to enable us to consolidate the learning programs as well as enhance the content. 14 editions have been held already in which 1,036 experts have been trained between 2014 and 2022. To prepare for and deliver the 15th Edition and 16th Edition in 2022 and 2023, the ACA is seeking the services of qualified experts to serve in the role of is seeking the services of qualified experts to serve in the role of Training Materials Development Expert for the MTP.

The MTP aims to:

  • Create a pool of qualified experts in the cashew value chain in West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, also reaching out to other West-African countries - e.g.  Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Mali); and
  • Reach out to East African countries;
  • Facilitate the regional exchange of knowledge, learning and innovation.

Required profile of the Training Material Development expert

  • Should have a minimum of 10-year experience on the topic and demonstrated experience on training material development.
  • Must have expertise on the above-mentioned topics and understand the cashew value chain.
  • Must show evidence of participation in a working group for training materials development.
  • Must have knowledge on the use of Adult Learning Principles and modules.
  • knowledge of the cashew sector, good proficiency in French and English is considered an added advantage.

This consultancy contract shall cover activities for the following training sessions

Tasks for Edition 15 and Edition 16

  1. Preparation and re-design of the topics on Training Materials Development, based on Adult Learning Principles, lessons learnt from previous editions and training needs of participants.
  2. Attend debriefings during the training sessions with the resource persons, resource and logistics team and managements of ACA.
  3. Deliver detailed reports on each training session providing details on the training materials development topics and the outcomes; and make recommendations for subsequent sessions.
  4. Assist lead facilitators and other resource persons during intersession activities for the participants
  5. Training delivery is online

 

Expected results:

  • At the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to develop training tools.
  • Participants understand the hidden/successful secrets for effective and efficient tool development.
  • Participants learn more about how to configure training tools and the development process.
  • In addition, all questions related to the theme presented are answered and participants will be able to use the precepts taught.
  • A training report is delivered at the end of each session.

Interested parties (both individuals, consortiums, and organisations) should send in their applications. For individuals, CV/resumes and a cover letter detailing all their experiences and qualifications relevant to the tasks described. For organisations, brief proposal detailing the CV/Resume of the personnel proposed for the tasks. All received applications will be reviewed and scored based on the required profile of the Training Materials Development expert as described above.

In Addition, all applicants must send as a separate document, a brief financial proposal detailing their approach to the tasks, the number of days required for each task and the total days as well as their quoted gross daily rate. Travel and per diem expenses will be covered separately and should not be included in the proposal.
