Equipment Supplier for Cashew Processors in Ghana
- Background
The Competitive Cashew initiative (ComCashew) aims to strengthen the competitiveness of African Cashew processors to reduce poverty amongst small-scale farmers in its project countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mozambique and Sierra-Leonne. The African Cashew Alliance (ACA) an implementing partner of ComCashew has been mandated to deliver activities of ComCashew. ACA is therefore seeking for suppliers to provide equipment to Association of Cashew Processors of Ghana of “Improvement of processing and employee environment to effectively alleviate the economic hardships and health conditions of factories and workers put at risk by the COVID 19 pandemic”.
Objective of Equipment Acquisition:
The objective is to help in promoting and revitalizing the cashew processing factories in Ghana.
Specific Objectives:
- Increase the efficiency cashew processing factories in Ghana.
- Enhance operational sustainability of these processors.
Expected Output:
- Increased shelling rate in the factories
- Reduced kernel breakage during processing
- Reduced labour cost which affect profits
- Increased overall productivity of the six processing factories
- Minimum HACCP standard equipment is delivered to the 6 raw cashew nut processing units
- Equipment Supplier task description:
The equipment Supplier will provide the followings:
- Supply of equipment
- Installation Assistance
- Equipment Delivery and installation on site.
- Provision of training on the equipment usage and maintenance. The training would provide a group training for all users of the machines (6 processing units and one day onsite training for each of the facilities)
- Equipment Specifications:
- Material used in the fabrication of all equipment must meet the ASTM international standard
- All equipment must meet minimum HACCP food safety standard

- Quotation
Interested Equipment Supplier are to submit a detailed quotation of the cost for full delivery of the LOT (S) they want to supply.
- Place and Time of Delivery
All Equipment should be delivered at the African Cashew Alliance (ACA) office at the 31 Boundary Road East Legon, Accra-Ghana. The time of delivery is up to 30 days after the date of receipt of first (1st) Payment.
- Additional Conditions
In tendering for the supplier of the equipment, the Supplier warrants that:
- They are able to ship the items within 30 days after the date of receipt of first (1st) Payment.
- That the equipment shall correspond exactly with the quantities and description agreed.
- The equipment shall be free from defects and shall be in such a quality or fitness for the purpose for which the equipment is manufactured.
- The Supplier shall be responsible for putting the goods in to a safe and deliverable state.
- The Supplier shall be responsible for the insurance of the goods from the point of manufacturer to the place of delivery.
- Application Process
Interested suppliers should:
- Be Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers should respond to this TOR, stating their capacity, to deliver the LOTS.
- Provide names of factories in Africa using their Equipments.
- Submit a detailed Quotation for each LOT or group of LOTS they are interested in supplying.
- Submit all applications to the African Cashew Alliance (ACA) through email: relief@africancashewalliance.com
All applications must be submitted on or before 2nd October 2020.
